Elin Jonsson's twisted tale of darkness and beauty.
Elin's art work draws inspiration from Swedish folklore, Victorian goth, dark fairy tales and french art nouveau.

Elin began her career as an illustrator for the largest bohemian music festival in Sweden called Peace & Love. Her personal love for "circus flavoured French whimsy" became the identity of the festival and was seen across Sweden in many magazines and on many television screens.
Moving to Canada 2012 Elin co-created Afterland, a mobile card game, celebrated for its Tim Burtonesque art style. The years with Afterland shaped her as an artist and so then she began to explore with darker themes that were more personal and emotional.

Elin Jonsson's art is still highly personal and symbolical but it's now beginning to show more light and more hope with her current theme. The shape language of her art mimics nature, and her work is both delicate and ethereal. Elin's heritage of the "Swedish melancholy" is always present in her work, even in the lighter pieces. What you'll find with her recent art work is that the darkness doesn't take over and that she focuses on the lightness which brings a whole new level to her work. Even though her art work is considered lighter nowadays, her soul is still anchored in the depth of the sorrow.
